Fatality reported in fiery crash at I-820 and Blue Mound Rd

SAGINAW, TX – One person died this past Friday in a single-vehicle crash along the interstate in northwest Tarrant County, reports WFAA News 8.

The accident happened just after 3 a.m. in the area of I-820 and Blue Mound Road in southeast Saginaw, which is about eight miles northwest of Fort Worth.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a vehicle crashed onto the median before igniting.

Medics performed CPR on the sole occupant of the vehicle, but the victim succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.

The collision likely caused delays along I-820 in the area of the wreck while emergency crews worked at the scene.
