Allen Armstrong, 43, fatally hurt in Amarillo ejection crash

AMARILLO, TX – A driver sustained fatal injuries Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle collision along a major roadway in northwest Amarillo, reports News Channel 10.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on West Amarillo Boulevard near North Western Street, which is northeast of Amarillo Country Club and west of Amarillo Lake.

Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a westbound GMC Yukon SUV lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, and rolled onto the center median. The impact of the crash ejected the driver, who died at the scene.

Authorities identified the victim as Allen Alexander Armstrong.

No other injuries have been referenced in connection to the accident.

Authorities likely closed West Amarillo Boulevard in the area of the collision while emergency teams worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
