Camila Salas, unborn child claimed in collision on Rangerville Rd

HARLINGEN, TX – Harlingen Police are investigating a major accident that killed a pregnant woman and her unborn child two weekends ago on the south side, reports KRGV 5.

Shortly before 9 p.m., emergency teams responded to the area of Rangerville Road and King Avenue, which is west of US-83 and near the Dollar General.

Police haven’t shared any details regarding the circumstances of the crash except to say that two vehicles were involved.

Medics transported multiple people, including a 19-year-old pregnant woman, to an area hospital. The woman, identified as Camila Salas, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital, as did her unborn child.

It’s unclear how many other people required hospitalization.

The collision likely caused significant delays along Rangerville Road while emergency crews worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
