Jeep, semi collide head on in Gray Co., killing Stephan Taylor
GRAY CO., TX – A 43-year-old man sustained fatal injuries in a Labor Day collision along the interstate in southeast Gray County, reports News Channel 10.
Shortly after 1 a.m., emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-40 just east of McLean and about 75 miles east of Amarillo.
Police say that an eastbound Jeep entered the westbound side of the interstate and collided head on with a westbound 18-wheeler. The impact of the crash caused the Jeep to ignite.
The wrong-way driver, identified as Stephan Taylor, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.
Medics transported the truck driver to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries; he has since been released.
There’s no word yet regarding Taylor’s condition at the time of the accident.
