Crash at I-14, Trimmier proves fatal for 28-year-old man
KILLEEN, TX – A male motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries Thursday in a two-vehicle collision along the interstate in Killeen, reports KWTX 10.
Shortly before 4:30 a.m., emergency crews were called to a major accident on the westbound side of I-14 at Trimmier Road near Walmart and Lowe’s.
Police say that a westbound 2014 Honda sedan was likely speeding when it rear-ended a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle.
The 28-year-old motorcycle operator, who has not yet been identified by authorities, died at the scene of the crash.
Nobody else sustained injuries in the accident, and it’s unclear if the driver of the Honda will face charges.
The collision likely caused early-morning delays along I-14 in the Trimmier area while crews worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
