Orlando Tello, 1 other killed in crash on US-180 near Snyder

SCURRY CO., TX – A man and a woman from Lamesa died Monday night in a three-vehicle collision along the highway in west-central Scurry County, reports Fox West Texas.

The accident occurred shortly after 9 p.m., just west of Snyder near US-180 and County Road 264. This is about 80 miles southeast of Lubbock.

Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of an International semi entered the wrong side of US-180 and crashed head on with a second 18-wheeler and a Chevy pickup truck.

Medics transported the wrong-way driver and their passenger to area hospitals with serious injuries.

It’s unclear if the other truck driver was hurt in the accident.

Both occupants of the pickup truck sustained fatal injuries. Authorities have identified them as Orlando Tello and Silvia Lemon.

The collision likely caused substantial delays along US-180 Monday night while emergency crews worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
