18-wheeler crash on I-10 at 1966 Spur claims Colorado man
EL PASO, TX – A Colorado man sustained fatal injuries Monday morning in a semi crash along the interstate in El Paso, reports KVIA 7.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., emergency crews were called to a single-vehicle accident involving an 18-wheeler at I-10 and TX-1966 Spur in the Sunset Heights area.
Police say that an Amazon Prime semi hit a concrete column on the overpass after drifting onto the shoulder and striking the guardrail.
The truck driver, identified as 37-year-old Mohamed Ali Mumin, succumbed to his injuries at an area hospital.
Officials closed I-10 in the Schuster area while teams attended to the victim and worked to clear the wreckage.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
