Fatality reported in 2-vehicle collision at TX-289, FM 120

POTTSBORO, TX – One person died, and another sustained injuries Monday afternoon in a crash along the highway in north-central Grayson County, reports KXII 12.

Around 4 p.m., emergency crews were called to a two-vehicle accident at TX-289 and FM 120 on the northwest side of Pottsboro, which is about 76 miles northeast of Dallas.

Police say the collision occurred when a driver failed to heed a traffic signal at the intersection. The same driver was also allegedly speeding at the time of the accident.

Medics airlifted one of the drivers to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

The other driver succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the accident. Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim to the public.

The accident likely caused delays Monday afternoon along TX-289 in northwest Pottsboro while teams attended to the victims and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
