Daniel Spray IDed as victim in fatal crash at 24th and Indiana

LUBBOCK, TX – A 57-year-old man died Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash at a busy intersection in central Lubbock, reports Fox 34.

The accident occurred around 7:45 a.m. in the Tech Terrace area at 24th Street and Indiana Avenue. This is just south of Texas Tech University and east of the Medical District.

Police say that a southbound pickup truck and a northbound car collided when the driver of the car made a left turn at the intersection. The initial crash pushed the car off of the roadway and into a utility pole.

The driver of the car, identified as Daniel Spray, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The two teens in the pickup truck sustained minor injuries; it’s unclear if they required hospitalization.

Authorities haven’t yet indicated which driver had the right of way at the time of the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
