Xochitl Monsivais, 3 kids hurt in crash caused by drunk driver
DENISON, TX – Two adults and three children sustained injuries last Thursday in a two-vehicle collision caused by an impaired driver in Grayson County, reports KXII 12.
The accident happened at night on US-69 near Snow Road in southeastern outskirts of Denison, which is about an hour northeast of Plano.
Police say that Juan Monsivais, his wife Xochitl, and their children were returning from a soccer game when a vehicle rear-ended their car on the highway. Monsivais is a sergeant for the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office.
Five people were hospitalized with crash-related injuries of varying severity. Xochitl Monsivais and her baby sustained life-threatening injuries in the collision.
Authorities arrested David Brokaw, the driver that caused the accident, on charges of intoxication assault.
The collision likely caused significant delays along US-69 near Snow Road while crews attended to the victims and worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
