Katie McLellan injured in 2-vehicle crash at 19th and Upland
LUBBOCK, TX – A woman and a child were hurt Saturday in a two-vehicle collision at a major intersection on the west side of Lubbock, reports everythingLubbock.
The accident happened shortly before 9 a.m. at the intersection of Levelland Highway, or 19th Street, and Upland Avenue in the West Carlisle neighborhood.
Police say that a pickup truck and an SUV collided when the driver of the pickup truck failed to heed a red light.
Two passengers from the SUV, identified as 30-year-old Katie McLellan and a 3-year-old girl, required hospitalization for serious injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck, identified as 31-year-old Dakota Holder, sustained minor injuries. It’s unclear if Holder required hospitalization.
The driver of the SUV did not sustain injuries in the crash.
The accident likely caused delays in the area of 19th and Upland while crews worked at the scene.
