Pickup hits mail truck in NW Houston, killing Steven Marks
HOUSTON, TX – A 58-year-old postal worker sustained fatal injuries Saturday in a collision caused by an alleged drunk driver in northwest Houston, reports KHOU 11.
The accident occurred sometime in the morning along Antoine Drive between West Greens Road and Suttonford Drive. This is north of the Sam Houston Tollway and east of TX-249.
Police say that the driver of a Dodge pickup truck was travelling southbound at a high rate of speed when he rear-ended a postal truck on Antoine Drive.
The postal worker driving the mail truck died after transport to an area hospital. Authorities later identified him as Steven Marks.
Authorities arrested the driver of the pickup truck, since identified as Jose Romero, on a charge of intoxication manslaughter. Romero, they say, was fleeing the scene of another crash when he hit the postal truck.
The investigation is ongoing.
