Jose Jasso IDed as victim in crash on I-20 WB at Exit 176
BIG SPRING, TX – A 30-year-old man sustained fatal injuries last weekend when a vehicle struck him along the interstate in Howard County, reports Your Basin.
The accident happened Saturday on I-20 near Exit 176 in Big Spring, which is about 105 miles southeast of Lubbock.
Police say that a westbound 1999 Chevrolet Silverado struck a man who was walking alongside his parked Ford F-250 to close an open door on the attached trailer. The Chevy then collided with the parked F-250 and overturned.
The pedestrian, identified as Jose Christian Jasso of Snyder, died at the scene of the crash.
Medics transported the 24-year-old driver of the Chevy to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Drivers likely encountered delays along I-20 last Saturday while emergency teams gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
