John Schwartz IDed as victim in 2-car crash near Wall

TOM GREEN CO., TX – An 88-year-old man sustained fatal injuries Monday in a two-vehicle collision along the highway in central Tom Green County, reports Concho Valley Homepage.

The accident happened at 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of Debus Road and US-87 between San Angelo and Wall. This is southeast of the Goodfellow Air Force Base.

Police say that a northbound GMC Sierra Pickup collided with a westbound Chevrolet Suburban when the driver of the pickup truck failed to yield right of way while making a left turn onto the highway.

The unrestrained driver of the GMC died at the scene. Authorities identified him as former Wall Co-op president John Ernest Schwartz.

The driver of the Chevy did not sustain injuries in the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
