Man, 44, killed in ejection crash on Gulf Fwy in SE Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A man died Thursday evening in a single-vehicle collision along the freeway in southeast Houston, reports My Texas Daily.

The accident occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. on the Gulf Freeway, or I-45, near Clearwood Drive. This is near Edgebrook Plaza and east of William P. Hobby Airport.

Police say that a 44-year-old driver lost control of his Dodge pickup truck while making a U-turn from the northbound side of the freeway. The vehicle ultimately overturned, and the driver was thrown from the vehicle.

The victim, who has not yet been named by authorities, died at the scene of the crash.

Motorists likely encountered delays along I-45 Thursday evening while emergency crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
