Howard Lyons struck by train, killed in NE San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 59-year-old man died last Thursday evening when a train hit him on the northeast side of San Antonio, reports KSAT 12.

Around 5:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a pedestrian crash along the train tracks near the intersection of Interchange Parkway and Fratt Road. This is just west of I-410 in the Windcrest area.

Police say that Howard Lee Lyons was chasing his dog when he entered the path of a train.

Lyons succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The dog, who was also struck by the train, is now in the care of Animal Care Services in San Antonio.

No other injuries have been reported in the accident, and charges are not expected at this time.

A full investigation is underway.
