Police cruiser hits, kills Cindy Wiatrek on TX-123 in Seguin
SEGUIN, TX – A 67-year-old woman died the day before Thanksgiving in an auto-pedestrian crash that happened along the highway in south-central Guadalupe County, reports KSAT 12.
The accident occurred around 6 a.m. on TX-123 near Russell Street in far-south Seguin, which is approximately 36 miles northeast of San Antonio.
Police say that a Seguin Police Officer was on his way to work when his Chevy Tahoe cruiser struck a pedestrian on or along the highway.
The victim died at the scene. Authorities identified her as 67-year-old Cindy Wiatrek.
At this time, the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
The officer involved in the crash stopped to render aid and to report the incident. He is currently on administrative leave as the investigation continues.
