Van rear-ends semi in Milford, killing Cole and Huxley Gerrard
MILFORD, TX – A two-vehicle collision involving and 18-wheeler claimed the lives of two teen siblings on Thanksgiving in south Ennis County, reports WFAA News 8.
Just before 7:45 p.m., emergency crews responded to a fatal crash on the southbound side of I-35E in Milford, near mile marker 382. This is approximately 49 miles southwest of Dallas.
Police say that a van carrying four people struck the rear of a semi-truck on the interstate. The driver of the van failed to decelerate for slowed traffic due to another crash that happened a bit further south.
Twin brothers from the van died from injuries sustained in the accident. Authorities identified the victims, who were both students at Jasper High School in Plano, as Cole and Huxley Gerrard.
It’s unclear if anyone else involved in the crash sustained injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
