Pickup crashes into Fort Worth apartment, killing Raidel Alvarez

FORT WORTH, TX – A 39-year-old man died Tuesday when a vehicle crashed into his first-floor apartment in southwest Fort Worth, reports WFAA News 8.

The accident happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Sycamore School Road between South Hulen Street and Sienna Drive. This is south of Chapel Hill Academy and east of Hazel Harvey Peace Elementary.

Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a red pickup truck lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, and crashed into the first-floor bedroom of an apartment. During the crash, the vehicle struck the resident of the apartment, who was likely sleeping in his bedroom.

The victim, identified as Raidel Liranza Alvarez of Cuba, succumbed to his injuries in the ambulance.

The driver involved in the crash did not show any signs of intoxication.
