Mardee Matlac IDed as victim in crash at S Soncy, W Cemetery

RANDALL CO., TX – A two-vehicle collision in central Randall County killed a 56-year-old woman on Friday night and injured two other women, reports abc 7 News.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to the intersection of South Soncy Road and West Cemetery Road, which is just southwest of Canyon and about 18 miles southwest of Amarillo.

Police say that a westbound Cadillac Deville collided with a southbound Chrysler Town & Country when the driver of the Cadillac failed to heed a stop sign.

The unrestrained driver of the Town and County succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Authorities identified her as Mardee Matlack.

Medics transported the driver of the Cadillac, identified as 18-year-old Karlee Barfoot, and a her passenger to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
