Roberto Lopez badly hurt in Odessa motorcycle crash on 42nd

ODESSA, TX – A 40-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious injuries last Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision along a major roadway in east-central Ector County, reports Odessa Police.

The accident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. on West 42nd Street between Rasco Avenue and Brazos Avenue in north-central Odessa.

Police say that a Harley Davidson motorcycle rear-ended a Ford Mustang when the latter vehicle stopped abruptly in the roadway. The investigation indicates that the front hood of the Mustang detached from the vehicle and crashed through the windshield.

The collision ejected the motorcyclist, who has since been identified as Roberto Lopez.

Lopez went to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

No additional injuries have been reported in connection to the collision.

A full investigation is underway.
