Tommie Hernandez claimed in crash on CR 200 near Ropesville

TERRY CO., TX – A Levelland man sustained fatal injuries in a single-vehicle crash that happened over the weekend in northern Terry County, reports Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

Just after 7:15 p.m. Saturday, emergency crews responded to a major accident in the 1200 block of County Road 200 near Meadow and Ropesville and about 23 miles southwest of Lubbock.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the 66-year-old driver of an eastbound Chevrolet 2500 HD lost control of his vehicle, causing it to overturn in the roadway.

The unrestrained driver, since identified as Tommie Hernandez, died at the scene of the crash.

There were no passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
