Wrong-way collision in Fabens kills Maria De Cisneros Romo
FABENS, TX – A multi-vehicle crash in southern El Paso County claimed the life of a 54-year-old woman on Wednesday morning, reports KTSM 9
Emergency crews responded to a wrong-way collision just before 5:30 a.m. on Alameda Avenue near Dominguez Farms in south Fabens. This is around 32 miles southeast of El Paso.
Police say that a westbound SUV attempted to pass a westbound Silverado pickup truck by entering the eastbound side of Alameda Avenue. The SUV collided head-on with an eastbound pickup truck. After this initial crash, the Silverado also impacted with the eastbound vehicle.
The driver of the SUV, identified as Maria De Cisneros Romo of Tornillo, succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident.
Medics transported the other two drivers to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
A full investigation is underway.
