Bus and car collide on US-281 in Pleasanton, critically injuring 2

PLEASANTON, TX – Serious injuries have been reported in connection to a collision involving a car and a school bus in northern Atascosa County, reports KENS 5.

Shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday, emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash on Second Street, or Highway 281, between Uvalde Street and 1st Street on the north side of Pleasanton. This is around 36 miles south of San Antonio.

Police haven’t yet commented on the cause of the accident, which they say involved a sedan and a Pleasanton ISD school bus carrying more than 40 students of various ages.

Medics airlifted two people from the car to an area hospital in critical condition.

While nobody on the bus sustained serious injuries, it’s unclear if any of the bus occupants required hospitalization.

A full investigation is underway.
