Semi rear-ends car on I-45 in Buffalo, killing Dontavis Hood
BUFFALO, TX – A 33-year-old man sustained fatal injuries last Wednesday in a crash involving a semi-truck in north-central Leon County, reports KBTX 3.
The accident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on I-45 near exit 178 in southwest Buffalo, about 66 miles east of Waco.
Police say that a southbound 18-wheeler collided with the rear of a disabled Lincoln Town Car. The semi then went on to hit an SUV with three occupants.
The driver of the sedan, identified as Dontavis Hood of Missouri City, died at the scene of the collision.
It’s unclear if anyone in the SUV sustained injuries.
Authorities say that low-visibility was a probable factor in the accident.
Officials closed the interstate overnight while crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
