Pickup and motorcycle collide in Kingsville, killing Moises Castillo
KINGSVILLE, TX – A motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision in northwest Kleberg County, reports KIII 3 News.
The accident occurred shortly before noon at the intersection of Caesar Avenue and 8th Street in Kingsville, which is around 41 miles southwest of Corpus Christi.
Police say that an eastbound 2025 Yamaha motorcycle collided with a westbound Ford pickup when the driver of the latter vehicle failed to yield right of way when turning south.
The motorcyclist, identified as 35-year-old Moises Castillo, died after transport to an area hospital.
It’s unclear if the driver of the pickup truck required hospitalization for minor injuries.
Castillo, officials say, was awaiting his swear-in ceremony to the Kingsville Police Department. He was also a former Kingsville fire fighter.
No charges have been announced thus far.
A full investigation is underway.
