Dallas DUI crash seriously injures Cody and Chris Purvis

DALLAS, TX – A drunk driver faces seven felony charges after causing an accident last month that seriously injured two men in Dallas, reports CBS News.

The collision occurred the week before Christmas, on Thursday, December 18th, at the intersection of Harry Hines Boulevard and North Field Street, or Moody Street, near The Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum in Victory Park.

Police say that Giovanni Perez was intoxicated when he ran a red light at the intersection and caused a three-vehicle collision. Perez did not stop to render aid but was apprehended a short time after the accident in the area.

Two occupants from one of the other vehicles involved sustained life-threatening injuries. Authorities later identified the victims as brothers Cody and Chris Purvis.

It’s unclear if anyone else sustained injuries in the accident.

Perez was arrested on multiple charges, including intoxication assault.

A full investigation is underway.
