Maria Plunkett IDed as victim in solo crash at US-62, MM 50

HUDSPETH CO., TX – A Desert Haven woman sustained fatal injuries last Friday in a single-vehicle collision along the highway in northeast Hudspeth County, reports El Paso Times.

Just before noon, emergency crews responded to a crash on US-62 near mile marker 50, which is east of El Paso and not far from Cornudas and Dell City.

Police say that for unknown reasons, 56-year-old Maria Patricia Plunkett lost control of her pickup truck and left the highway. The vehicle ultimately crashed into a ravine, killing Plunkett at the scene.

There were no other passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

A full investigation is underway.
