Wendy Brooks, 1 other killed in wrong-way collision near Beaumont
JEFFERSON CO., TX – A man and a woman died last Thursday in a head-on crash along the highway in northeast Jefferson County, reports 6 KFDM.
Around 9:45 p.m., emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle collision on TX- 105 just west of Beaumont.
Police say that an eastbound Chevy Malibu entered the westbound side of the highway and collided head-on with a westbound Nissan Sentra. A westbound Ford Explore then collided with debris from the initial crash.
Both the wrong-way driver and the driver of the Nissan sustained fatal injuries. Authorities identified the drivers, respectively, as Johnny McClain Jr and Wendy Brooks.
The occupants of the Ford were uninjured in the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
