Officer Hector Borrego IDed as victim in Transmountain solo crash

EL PASO, TX – An off-duty police officer sustained serious injuries Sunday when his motorcycle crashed in Franklin Mountains State Park, reports CBS 4 News.

Shortly after 3:15 p.m., emergency crews responded to a solo crash on TX-375 near the Main Overlook Point and Smugglers Pass.

Officials say that Officer Hector Borrego was off-duty when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed.

Medics airlifted Borrego to an area hospital with serious injuries.

There were no other passengers on the bike at the time of the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
