Travis Reed killed in wrong-way crash near FM 2381, FM 1061

POTTER CO., TX – A two-vehicle collision that happened Wednesday evening in southwest Potter County killed one person and injured two others.

According to News Channel 10, emergency crews responded to FM 2381 near Tascosa Road, or FM 1061, shortly before 7:30 p.m. This is just north of Bushland and about 14 miles northwest of Amarillo.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a southbound Honda entered the northbound side of FM 2381 and collided head-on with a northbound Ford Expedition, causing the Ford to ignite.

The wrong-way driver, identified as 27-year old Travis Reed, died at the scene.

Medics transported the adult driver and 12-year-old passenger to area hospitals. The driver sustained serious injuries, while the juvenile’s injuries were non-life-threatening.

A full investigation is underway.
