Sheila Lemma-Swartz IDed as victim in Bryan semi collision

BRYAN, TX – A fatality has been reported in connection to a weekend collision involving a car and a semi-truck in Brazos County, reports KBTX 3.

Sometime Sunday afternoon, emergency crews responded to a major crash on the North Earl Rudder Freeway, or US-190, between Wilkes Street and Colson Road in Bryan. This is about five miles northwest of College Station.

The investigation thus far indicates that a car crashed into an 18-wheeler along the freeway.

The driver of the car, identified as 61-year-old Sheila Lemma-Swartz, died at the scene of the accident.

The truck driver did not sustain injuries.

Officials closed US-190 in the area of the crash while teams gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
