Train vs. car collision near Abilene claims Brileigh and Kyler Dailey

CALLAHAN CO., TX – A weekend crash involving a train and a pickup truck in Callahan County killed two Baird teens, reports My Texas Daily.

The accident around 2:45 p.m. Sunday on the tracks just north of County Road 243 and FM 18 between Clyde and Abilene.

Police say that a pickup truck carrying two adolescents entered the path of an oncoming train while exiting a private drive near the tracks. The collision caused the pickup to leave the roadway and ignite.

Both occupants of the truck died at the scene. Authorities identified the victims as 16-year-old Kyler Dailey and 19-year-old Brileigh Janae Dailey.

No other injuries have been reported in connection to the accident.

A full investigation is underway.
