1 killed, 1 injured in entrapment crash on FM 39 in North Zulch

NORTH ZULCH, TX – One person died, and another sustained injuries in a Valentine’s Day collision in western Madison County, reports KTEN 10.

Around 10:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a major accident on FM 39 between Waller Road and Pleasant Grove Road in the southern outskirts of North Zulch. This is about 109 miles northwest of Houston.

There’s no word yet regarding the cause of the crash, the number of vehicles involved, or the manner in which the cars impacted. Police say that at least one vehicle caught fire, entrapping the occupant.

One person died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.

Medics transported another person to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.

Officials closed FM 39 in the area of the accident for just over three hours while teams worked at the scene.
