Joyce Taylor, 95, IDed as victim in solo crash near Groveton

TRINITY CO., TX – A Waco woman died last Friday in a single-vehicle collision along the highway in central Trinity County, reports East Texas News.

The accident occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. along US-287 just west of Groveton and about 110 miles north of Houston.

Police say that the 95-year-old driver of an eastbound Ford F-150 lost control of her vehicle and left the highway, causing the pickup to roll.

The elderly driver succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Authorities have since identified her as Joyce Taylor.

Motorists likely faced delays along US-287 eastbound on Friday afternoon while crews worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
