Bijan Irani arrested on DWI after Menchaca Rd injury crash

AUSTIN, TX – One man sustained injuries, and another was arrested last week following an auto-pedestrian crash in south-central Austin.

According to CBS Austin, the collision occurred shortly before 7 p.m. last Friday on Menchaca Road between Kimono Ridge Drive and Crownspoint Drive in the Windcrest Crossing area.

The investigation thus far indicates that 34-year-old Bijan Cyrus Irani was intoxicated when he struck a pedestrian on Menchaca Road.

It’s not yet clear if the victim was walking in a designated crosswalk when the accident happened.

Medics transported the pedestrian to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Irani’s charges include DWI and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

The investigation is ongoing.
