Double-fatality crash near Lockwood, Clinton slows traffic

HOUSTON, TX – A single-vehicle collision that happened Thursday along a major roadway in east Houston claimed two lives, reports KHOU 11.

Around 5 p.m., emergency crews responded to a high-speed accident on Lockwood Drive just south of Clinton Drive in the Second Ward.

The driver of Dodge Charger, police say, was travelling 45 to 50 miles per hour over the posted speed limit when they lost control of the car, left the roadway, and crashed.

Both the man and woman in the car sustained fatal injuries.

Officials closed both sides of Lockwood Drive while teams gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
