Rollover crash on I-14 EB in Killeen kills Malik Kendrell Hayes
KILLEEN, TX – A 24-year-old man died Sunday in a single-vehicle collision along the interstate in Bell County, reports KWTX 10.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to fatal crash on the eastbound side of I-14 in Killeen. Officials haven’t yet provided a mile marker or cross street for the accident.
The investigation thus far indicates that Malik Kendrell Hayes was likely speeding when his Dodge Challenger ran off of the roadway. The vehicle overturned, ejecting the unrestrained driver.
Hayes succumbed to his injuries after transport to an area hospital.
Drivers along I-14 eastbound likely encountered delays Sunday night while teams gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
