Yasmin Barrientos killed in crash with semi in Coryell County
CORYELL CO., TX – A 22-year-old Waco woman died last Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision involving a semi in south-central Coryell County, reports KCENTV 6.
Shortly after 8 p.m., emergency crews responded to rear-end crash on FM 116 near mile marker 376, which is north of Copperas Cove.
The investigation indicates that a northbound Kia Soul struck the rear of an 18-wheeler along FM 116 as the semi was turning onto the highway.
The driver of the Kia, identified as Yasmin Lee Barrientos, succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident.
No other injuries have been reported thus far.
The incident likely caused delays along FM 116 while crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
