Truck fatally strikes Daniel Walker on Gentry Pkwy in Tyler

TYLER, TX – An elderly man sustained fatal injuries Wednesday night in an auto-pedestrian crash in west-central Smith County, reports KETK.

The accident occurred around midnight near the intersection of the West Gentry Parkway and North Ross Avenue, just north of downtown in Tyler.

Police say that 70-year-old Daniel Walker was crossing Gentry Parkway outside of a designated crosswalk when a truck hit him.

Walker died at the scene of the collision.

The driver involved in the accident stopped to render aid and to speak with authorities.

No charges are pending at this time, as the investigation continues.
