Pedestrian fatally struck by hit-and-run driver near TX-12, Skillman

DALLAS, TX – Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that happened Tuesday night along the highway in northeast Dallas, reports WFAA News 8.

Shortly after 9 p.m., emergency crews responded to an accident on East Northwest Highway, or TX-12, near Skillman Street.

The initial investigation indicates that a vehicle struck a pedestrian along the highway. The driver did not stop to render aid or to speak with authorities.

The pedestrian, who died at the scene, has not yet been identified publicly.

Police located and arrested the alleged hit-and-run driver in a nearby parking lot.

Drivers likely faced delays along East Northwest Highway Tuesday night while crews worked at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
