Two injured in car wreck following shooting in Old East Dallas
DALLAS, TX – A man and woman were hurt late Saturday after a shooting apparently preceded a crash near Interstate 30 in Old East Dallas, police said.
Fox 4 reports that Dallas officers were called just before midnight to the scene of a one-vehicle wreck near I-30 and Winslow Avenue. When they arrived, they found both occupants injured inside the car.
Investigators said early information indicates the man had been shot at another location before the wreck. According to police, the woman told officers she was trying to get him to a hospital after he suffered a gunshot wound to the head, but she lost control of the vehicle before they arrived.
Authorities have not said where the shooting took place, and the names of the man and woman have not been released.
Police are still trying to determine what caused the crash. No charges had been announced, and officials have not provided an update on either person’s condition.
