UPDATE: Shiceria Polk, 39, ID’d in deadly I-35W crash in Fort Worth
FORT WORTH, TX – The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed it was 39-year-old Shiceria Polk who was killed in a I-35W crash that happened on Monday.
The crash occurred after 12:30 a.m. on the 13300th block of North Freeway, also known as I-35 W. According to new information from the Dallas Morning News, police said the incident unfolded when Polk, who was driving a silver Buick, drifted off the road and went over a wall. Polk’s car became airborne and then crashed into a second wall.
Polk succumbed to blunt force injuries around 12:40 a.m. Her two passengers, an infant and toddler, survived and were transported to a hospital for treatment. At this time, their physical conditions remain unknown.
Fort Worth police did not say if speed or impairment played a role, and are working to determine the contributing factors behind the collision.
