2 hospitalized following tractor-trailer collision in Richardson
RICHARDSON, TX – Two people, including a tractor-trailer driver, were sent to hospital following a tractor-trailer collision in Richardson on Tuesday.
WFAA said the incident unfolded when the tractor-trailer, hauling 44,000 pounds of granite, crashed into the center median on U.S. 75 North. The granite fell, blocking the northbound lanes of traffic.
Several vehicles were struck by the granite directly or while trying to drive over it. As a result, one of the drivers and the truck driver sustained minor injuries and were transported to the emergency room by EMS.
Officials shut down the area and reopened the northbound lanes before 4:30 p.m.
Richardson Police have not said whether they cited the truck driver or whether they could face charges.
