Passenger critically hurt in crash involving Fort Worth PD officer

FORT WORTH, TX – A passenger sustained critical, life-threatening injuries as a result of a crash involving a Fort Worth Police officer vehicle on Sunday, Fox4News said.

The two-vehicle collision happened at 4:15 a.m. on the 6500th block of Camp Bowie Boulevard. Fort Worth police said the police officer, driving a black Ford Explorer, was going east on Camp Bowie, struck the front passenger side of a westbound black Chevrolet Malibu.

Police said the driver of the Chevrolet was trying to turn onto the 3400 block of Clayton Road on a flashing yellow arrow when the collision unfolded.

EMS crews conducted CPR on the Chevrolet passenger before rushing them to a hospital, where they are recovering from critical injuries.

Forth Worth Police confirmed the Explorer was driven by one of their own officers. It’s not immediately clear whether the Fort Worth police officer behind the wheel of the Explorer was on duty at the time of the collision, utilized lights or sirens, or was injured. These details, and other pieces of information, will be posted to an updated post once we learn more.
