Rashee Rice receives another jail sentence after violating probation in connection with 2024 crash
DALLAS, TX – Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was sentenced to another 30 days in jail after testing positive for THC, which is in violation of his 5-year probation in connection with charges for a 2024 crash.
Dallas Police booked Rice into the Dallas County Jail around noon on May, 19, 2026. Court documents show that Rice will spend 30 days in jail and is expected to be released on June 16, 2026. Dallas County District Judge Ernest White also ordered Rice to be subjected to at minimum a once-a-month urinalysis test and submit the results to Dallas County Community Supervision and Corrections.
The Backstory on the March 2024 crash: Rice had driven at a high rate of 120 mph, causing a multi-vehicle crash, and then fled the scene before Dallas Police arrived.
Rice released a public statement a couple of weeks later admitting to causing the crash and fleeing the scene. Rice also turned himself in once an arrest warrant was issued, and also pleaded guilty to two third-degree felony charges last July. He received a 30-day jail sentence and was ordered to five years of probation, and was required to pay the victims’ medical bills.
