Local fire crews dispatched to scene of truck rollover crash near Rice 

NEAR RICE, TX – The Rice Volunteer Fire Department and the Corsicana Fire-Rescue were summoned to the scene of a truck rollover crash south of Rice on Thursday. 

The incident happened around midnight on the southbound lane of Interstate 45 Service Road, WFAA said. One Rice volunteer firefighter said they arrived at a person trapped in the truck, which called for extrication. 

At the time of the reporting, officials did not tell WFAA whether the extrication was successfully completed or whether anyone, including the trapped driver, was injured. 

The cause of the crash remains unclear, and the image provided by Rice fire crews revealed the truck had overturned in a grassy area. A gurney was also at the scene, implying that one person could have been transported to the emergency room.
