1 killed, 2 injured in vehicle-DART train collision in NE Dallas
NORTHEAST DALLAS, TX – One person was killed, and two others were injured in a vehicle-DART train collision in Northeast Dallas on Sunday, CBS News said.
The crash took place before 5 p.m. at the intersection of Royal Lane and Audelia Road. Dallas Police confirmed the driver of a personal vehicle went onto the train tracks and was struck by the train.
The vehicle driver died from their injuries, while the two train passengers suffered minor injuries.
The Dallas-Area Rapid Transit personnel temporarily suspended the train service between LBJ/Skillman and White Rock so crews could focus on cleaning up debris from the crash and officials could tend to the investigation.
During the closures, train passengers could utilize a bus bridge to get to other stations still in operation.
