Mabank fire chief Charlie Woodard fatally struck by pickup truck 

MABANK, TX – Mabank fire chief Charlie Woodard died after he was struck by a pickup truck last Saturday, June 27, WFAA said. 

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Woodard was directing post-event traffic on West Mason Street after the town’s 71st annual Rodeo Mabank at Andrew Gibbs Memorial Arena when he was hit by a westbound Chevrolet pickup truck. 

EMS crews rushed Woodard to UT Health in Gun Barrel City, where he later died.
