Plano man charged in collision that killed 15-year-old Carter Heise
PLANO, TX – A 30-year-old man, local to Plano, was formally charged with manslaughter for his role in a collision that killed a 15-year-old teenager from Murphy.
Houry was officially indicted by a Collin County jury on Tuesday, and his manslaughter charges stemmed from reckless driving and speeding, according to WFAA. No official trial date has been established.
The Back Story
The crash occurred on Monday, March 2. A police report reveals that Houry was driving at a high rate of speed on southbound Independence Parkway when he lost control of his Chevrolet Volt and crashed into a white Lincoln Navigator going north.
The Lincoln Navigator had four people inside, one of whom was the Murphy teenager, Carter Heise, a freshman at McMillen High School.
Heise died from his injuries at the scene, while the other Lincoln occupants survived and were hospitalized for unspecified injuries.
